SHARE’s own library and the process of distributed development in the 1950s is considered one of the origins of today’s open source. It is time to learn the latest on open source software (OSS). In this session, you will hear an update on the state of OSS for the IBM Z and LinuxONE platforms.  A session about the growing use of OSS including 20 years of Linux on Z and its extensive use across industries and the public sector.

Today OSS is more prevalent than in any other era and continues to grow with the latest technologies from data science and artificial intelligence to cloud-native software and DevOps automation tooling. You will also learn how communities are growing the OSS ecosystem and everything you need to know to participate in this exciting space.
