28520 - Cultivating the Benefits of Diversity in Race, Gender, and Age

Track: Enterprise Data Center

Date: Tue, Mar 2nd, 2021
Time: 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM
Room: Room 1

Description:

It's not enough to pepper your organization with folks from different backgrounds to check a diversity box. You must take deliberate steps towards building an environment where these different folks can learn from each other, challenge one another, and build relationships together.

Today, as we build dynamic teams it is critical that we include people of different ages, experience levels, geographic locations, genders, races, perspectives and skillsets. Once you have this group assembled, one of the harder parts is getting them all to work together, value the differences in opinion and perspective, learn from them, and then move together as more powerful unit.

In this session, I will discuss learnings garnered from experts in this field as well as leaders in different disciplines and organizations, to highlight best practices in addressing these modern organizational design and management challenges.
